Employee Scholarship Fund Application

The Bay Education Foundation Employee Tuition Assistance program is available to all district employees who are pursuing degrees or certifications that benefit Bay District Schools. For example, a Master’s Degree in Reading clearly benefits district. Preference is given to applicants who are attending Gulf Coast State College, or Florida State University-Panama City; however, consideration will be given to programs administered by the University of West Florida or Troy State University IF those programs are not available through GCSC or FSU-PC.

Substantial bonus points will be awarded to applicants who are

• Pursuing a degree/certification in a critical shortage area, AND/OR
• Pursuing a degree that keeps them in the classroom, AND/OR
• Members of the Bay Education Foundation.

You must

1. Be a full-time employee of Bay District Schools. (Employees who work at least 28.75 hours per week may apply for a waiver of this requirement.)
2. Complete the application and write the required essays, making sure to answer each question.
3. Attach a current letter of recommendation from your supervisor.
4. To qualify for a scholarship, you must be ADMITTED AND ENROLLED in a degree program that is beneficial to Bay District Schools.
5. Submit all information to the Bay Education Foundation office no later than March 18, 2015.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

If you have received a prior tuition grant from the Bay Education Foundation, you must provide a copy of the class grade(s) for which the Bay Education Foundation scholarship was used, as soon as grades are available.

All tuition assistance grants are contingent upon available funding and applicants must reapply each semester. Unused funds will not carry over from semester to semester and are payable only to the program applied for in this application. All funding will be paid out AFTER July 1, 2015 at which time you must be an employee of Bay District Schools.
